FFC: Sign-up Challenge 1

Yup, another contest entry for

This time around it is for the pre-sign up challenge: "Anything you can do, I can do better". [link] I was assigned the bug category and all I could think was... YES! Bugs come in such a wicked array of designs and colors of every kind. They are perfect for inspiration.
I went through about 10-12 different bugs. I wanted to keep to a certain amount of colors so I made sure that each bug had at least one color from the others. These are the ones I finally decided on...

Tarantula Hawk Wasp - I wanted it sleek. High class. Something you'd see on an executive of a fortune 500 company. For some reason the song Barracuda was in my head as I drew it.

Blue Morpho Butterfly - My first idea was a duel-sided hoody with pinstriped emo pants... but then my mind turned towards more 'grownup attire'. A three piece suit seemed perfect for this butterfly. There are pale yellow pinstripes, silver buttons, and the tie has the orange accents sometimes found around the head of the butterfly. I had to add that brilliant blue so the vest reminded me of how it peeks out as the wings move.

Madagascan Moon Moth (aka: Comet Moth) - And this one was the 'pop' of color to the collection. While it may look totally out of place it carries the oranges of the other two pieces and can be paired with pants or a skirt of the same color as the Wasp piece (it was a design I was tinkering with so it does work.)

Well, there you go and here's to hoping...
